Captaincurt asked about surviving a hurricane on a mooring. I suggested it sounded like a drink, or food. If it will be a drink it should have rum, but what should we mix with it? Any ideas for a new drink? Hopefully Hanna won't be doing the MIXING!
I like Ron Facapa 23 Anos with no ice, or mix, but it's too expensive for an everyday drink. Here's a picture of my brother, and wife splitting coconuts to mix with rum off Long Island Cay. Right next to Crooked Island.
Last year it was Capt Morgan's spiced rum and Doctor Pepper! Quite a nice crisp flavour. There's also is (was, can't find it this year) a cherry version of Dr. Pepper that was nice as well.

Pour all but the juices, in order listed, into a hurricane glass three-quarters filled with ice. Fill with equal parts of grapefruit and pineapple juice, and serve.
NOW to make it “On a mooring” add a stock of celery for the shore and a wedge of pineapple wedged on the side as the “mooring”......

If Hannah quits doing circles around the Caribbean and heads up here to northern Florida, I may just stock up with these drinks to make it through this weekend.
Found a simular drink this year while sailing around St. John...rum and tonic. Sounds like a sissy drink but was very refreshing in the hot sun, not too sweet or heavy.

It's called a rum press - I think ...
