With the availability of good bread throughout
French Polynesia our
consumption of peanut butter went way up. Stock up on that American delicacy 'cause they only had baby
food sized jars priced about the same as gold when we were there. Was not a big consumer of PB before we left but having access to that relatively
cheap super good bread quadrupled our
consumption and we soon ran out. Fortunately we met a
boat that had just sailed down from
Hawaii but had to return. We bought there large stock of PB and Tabasco that we'd also run out of.
FYI. WE GOT 6 month visas for FP before we left
San Diego. Had to go to the French Consulate in LA and jump through a few hoops plus show financial statement but it was worth it. Used up our entire 6 months in the Marquesas and wished we'd gotten a years visa. Highly reccomend you try and get a years visa if that opportunity is still possible.
