Major Provisioning in Fort Lauderdale/Miami South Florida possibly with delivery

We are currently in Fort Lauderdale and will move to Miami sometime next week.

I’m not from the US and will only be here for another month or 2, so not keen to have to buy a membership to Sam’s or Costco. So where is the next best and reasonably priced place to go? AND bonus points if they offer delivery to save me lots of time (and effort). I can provide a watersider or marina/boatyard address.

Walmart?
Publix?

Thanks to anyone with some helpful replies.
Cheers

Walmart delivers. Publix will deliver using Instacart I believe. (check instacart)

Whole Foods in Fort Lauderdale has always done yacht provisioning.

You couldn’t be in a better spot for it.

Not being from the USA you probably want Whole Foods, though it can be a little more expensive if you buy a lot of premade stuff. Otherwise USA food quality is really hit or miss.

Publix @ 1940 Cordova Rd, Fort Lauderdale has curbside pickup, and delivers via Instacart.

My daughter is currently anchored at Miami marine stadium. She uses an app called instacart that lets you shop at numerous stores including publix and walmart among others. They deliver right to the beach a short dingy ride from her boat. On a side note Miami marine stadium is a nice anchorage directly across the icw from the Miami skyline, fantastic views but a little crowded on weekends

I have stocked up in Ft Lauderdale in the past before departure to the Caribbean and asked the manager for a discount before shopping and got a bit off most times. We were loading 4-5-6 carts full of food.

Publix in general has good quality produce, a number of organic items and high and low quality packaged goods so you can pick. Get the good grade live oil for more money or the brand X for cheap.

When I was much younger I worked at Publix. Still have some of the trinkets from working there.

Publix took forever moving out of FLA and it now is in NC. Unfortunately not near us but it will be one day.

Publix has very good quality produce and their meats are good too. Winn Dixie used to say they were the Meat People but I always thought Publix was better.

The only issue with Publix is that it can cost more than other places. Sometimes, that is a good thing, because one is buying better quality products. I won't buy deli meats from our local non Publix grocery store because it is just garbage and fully of salt and chemicals. Public as REAL roast beef. It will cost you though but it is worth it. Publix bakeries used to actually bake bread. I hope they still do. My first loaf of Cuban bread was baked in a Publix bakery and it was baked in the store not brought in from who knows where. I was hooked on that bread.

Glad to hear there is a Trader Joe's. They have some very good products at good prices.

Dan

Publix has a dinghy dock!

Publix at Miami South beach, 1045 Dade Blvd, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Anchor just south of Belle Island. Short dink ride up the canal to the dink dock, which is right across the street from Publix.

I'm sure they do curbside pickup now during Covid, though we didn't use such service. So You can literally dock the dink, walk across the street to grab the groceries, back across the street and go! no delivery charge or melted ice cream!

I recommend to rent a car (SUV or even Uhaul van) and do curbside pickup at Walmart, take carts through Aldi and Publix.
