Lemon and lime soda boat drink

So I thought I bought a case of lemon and lime seltzer in cans. But, when I got them on board the boat it turns out they had mysterious turned into lemon and lime soda. Don't know how that happened?

So now I'm looking for some other ways to drink this sugary liquid other than straight up. Any suggestions for using them as a boat drink mixer?

Hmmm I'm thinking a bottle of Mango flavored rum sounds like it might do. Thanks!

You need to find someway to cut the sugar. Some ways that come to mind:

- add lemon or lime juice
- add fresh fruit and ginger to make a spicy punch. Then add rum or dry white wine to make a rum punch/sangria

Even better if you forget the soda and add a wedge of lime.

Re: Lemon and lime soda boat drink

Yeah I think I will splurge on a bag of ice and rum of some kind. Some lemons and limes and some bitters. Try a few things suggested here and see which one strikes my fancy.

Don't forget to add rum to the LLB (or not, as your fancy takes). Which of course then means it's an "LLBR"

Re: Lemon and lime soda boat drink

Sweet cocktails, blechch. Use lemon lime soda instead of buttermilk when making, pancakes, soda bread or batter for frying fish. Also not a bad dessert if you pour it over ice cream as if making a root beer float. You could throw a big party and make a sickly sweet punch to kill the taste of 150 proof rum. Landlubber guests love it.
