Importing vegetables + meats to Central America

We are getting to the final stages of outfitting the boat for Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. Wondering if anyone else out there has any knowledge of what can be transported into Mexico as far as produce and the like and how restrictive the three countries we will be visiting are with regards to each others produce and meats. It would be a shame to say purchase 5 lbs of onions in Mexico and then have to chuck them when you check into Belize.
We would appreciate any input on the subject.
Thanks,
Scott & Kristen

scott and Kristen: Mexico will take you meat and veg's. Belize depends on how much you pay them and Guatemala didn't ck. BUT, the port capt at Isla Mujeres requires a certified crew list by a US notary or he will fine you!!!!!!!! It's not required by Mexican law but he is known to make his own law. See Noonsite for details also. You don't need to get carried away with a lot of food when you leave. You need just enough to get to Mexico and then purchase more there cheaper. Make sure though when you leave mexico you stock up on papil sanitario (toilet paper) When you leave Mexico and travel on south it becomes hard to find sometimes. Have a great trip.
