haha Just crack the door, it's very quick.
I've used one at work, and this was many years ago, that you could read the temperature of the electrical wire or conduit on the ceiling in the factory, 20-25 feet away. Pretty cool to foresee issues.

Because when you open the oven door, some of the hot air escapes in a rush. I'd rather it stayed about the same temperature in the oven while baking is going on. Fwiw, I also hang my thermometer from she shelf edge, so I can read it through the glass.

Nice to see this 2014 thread revived. My old Eno stove from our first Insatiable did just fine with its low, med, and high settings. But that one had come from France, and I believe they changed hands years ago.
