To the op also look at
www.beprepared.com it's the
emergency essentials catalog. They have freeze dried Fruits and veggies, sprouting seeds/supplies as well as everything else. Good prices and varieties and great quality. They are an
emergency supplies catalog and have lots of cool stuff besides food. Got 2 - 3 month supply of emer supplies stashed all over our 28' camper in case of
hurricane evac.
My grandparents used to vacuume pack, can and basically put away all kinds of food. They were not sailors but just members of a generation that did not have easy access to fresh veggies in
winter. I remember us grand
kids shelling beans and shucking corn on hot summer days. We got $.10 a worm lol. I wish I had picked up more of their skills and "want-to"...it's waaaaayyyyy easier to just spend the $$$ in the catalog. Course we're not retired yet and not
provisioning for a
cruise...or maybe I'm just lazy!
