Food and Customs in the Islands
If I provision in St. Thomas and then go to the BVI is that a problem?
Looking on the BVI Customs website it says meats prohibitted. Who has experience?

Re: food and customs in the islands
We've never had BVI customs come on the boat. The captain goes to them.

In my experience, they've never even asked about meat on board.

Re: food and customs in the islands
I was thinking the same thing. Noonsite says that you can't bring meat. The other part of that question is: fresh (or frozen) meat or what about cans of chicken or turkey? We were thinking of heading in that direction in about 6 weeks and I'm trying to lay the groundwork.

Even though the captain goes in, what does he say when they ask if you have meat on board? They do not come on board but they almost always ask about prohibited items?

Re: food and customs in the islands
From the excellent website bvipirate.com, run by a couple who live on Anegada:
http://www.bvipirate.com/documents/B...pplication.pdf
this may be for large quantities. Have a look round the bvipirate site and see if Walker mentions anything about it.
