Re: Coffee pot?

I second SailRN regarding the percolator. I used this one available on Amazon: Farberware 50124 Classic Yosemite Stainless Steel Coffee Percolator - 8 Cup, Silver. It’s not really silver, just bright SS.
Typical marine stove pot holder arms grab the flanged base for stability even when underway. It makes fantastic coffee, and I use the wraparound coffee filter for easier cleanup and less sediment.
Just for fun I’ll mention I make coffee in this pot on a 1970s era Kenyon pressurized alcohol stove and no, I do not have problems with flare ups when I use the stove according to directions (RTFM!)

Re: Coffee pot?

I used boiled coffee(camp coffee) for years. when ever I bought a new pot the first thing I would do is throw the percolator basket away. Now I spoil myself and use the percolator. I really like it with evaporated milk and suger. I don't have a problem pouring it into a thermos. My Stanley thermos doesn't keep it hot no 12 hrs though. I think 5 or 6 probably. ( I mean pipeing hot)

Re: Coffee pot?

And there is always this Camp Coffee - very old and still made... though not for my taste

Perhaps this light hearted talk keeps a little sanity at this dreadful time.
