CNG / Natural Gas Distributor List

We have a boat with a CNG / Natural Gas stove, and we get to do the egg-hunt for CNG dealers now.

We had the bright idea to ask a dealer who his distributor is. That led us to the distributor who gave us a list of all of their dealers!

Now I am hoping to use this technique to locate other distributors and dealers. So if I discover any more, I will post them also.

So, for everyone who has CNG stoves, here is the link to the list, or just read on below.

Re: CNG / Natural Gas Distributor List

Just had a conversation with Jimmy at Virginia Natural Gas. He will do tank exchange and fill ups in Norfolk Virginia. His office hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm and the address is 190 park ave, norfolk, VA, and the number is 757-449-0842.

There is a dinghy dock right nearby too. It's next to the stadium and the train tracks.

SWEET!

CNG in Florida (East Coast)

Just found out that you can get CNG tanks refilled in Fort Pierce at 1701 south 37th street. You must call Ralph Pennick at 772-466-1600, x4703. If he isn't available you can call the gas dept. secretary Sandy at x4700.

Excellent!

I represent the Willsboro Bay Marina which is incorrectly listed as a CNG exchange station under both New York and Vermont. We discontinued the exchange service in 2009 and we are not aware of any exchange station on Lake Champlain.

Re: CNG / Natural Gas Distributor List

CNG update, Just talked to Jimmy at Va Natural Gas. They still do exchanges $32.00 ea and usually have 3-4 on hand. He mentioned they only do exchanges due to getting the bottles tested etc. Also talked to Corp Brothers. They will ship a new bottle full of gas priced about $300.00 all in. Bottle is $220. fill $30. and $50. shipping to NC.
Also hunted around for a fill station and have been shooed away when I ask. Thought about making the adapter and hitting a 24hr self serv about 2.00am but a 3 hr road trip would just be less hassle. Spare bottles are easy to find cheap so will just get a few filled and call it good.

Better than Google ! 3 years later, your answer saves my life After ending in the middle of an industrial zone in a Baltimore suburb for nothing, I found the closest dealer in your list ! Thanks again

Hi... again & how about North Carolina ? Lots of sailboats are heading offshore &/or South from Beaufort/Morehead City... Any CNG dealers there ? & once in the USVI or Puerto Rico, should we throw or CNG bottles overboard for propane/butane ? Thanks

Re: CNG / Natural Gas Distributor List

filling a CNG vehicle tank is not the same as having a portable tank done. last i heard there were no fill stations in Florida. bite the bullet and install a propane system.

Re: CNG / Natural Gas Distributor List

I know this is an old topic... but wanted to update it in case someone needs it.

In Virginia Jimmy with Virginia Natural Gas no longer does the tank exchange, it's now done by Tom Rumley, super nice guy, in Norfolk. His office number is 757-466-5444. It's no longer by any dinghy docks, so if you're cruising thru, you'll need a taxi.

One of the roads you use is Sabre road, which is funny as Sabre was probably one of the last holdouts putting CNG in their boats... and I just happened to have bought a Sabre.
