Dumbest thing I've ever bought for my
boat. Big, rectangular rail-mounted ridiculous thing. I did mount it on the rail for a while, while I was in port. Just about set the
bimini on fire more than once. Then decided it would sit on a
cockpit bench, which means you NEVER use the damn thing when you are sailing or on a
passage. It is stowed away. If I am in a port long enough (month or so) I'll pull it out. I do like BBQ meat.
My burner tube burnt out (or weakened so much that it fractured during rough times) and I will try and replace it.
Never use it down below or you will sleep the endless sleep.
Mine is a Magna
Newport. Much too large for 2-3 people. If you must have a BBQ get the round kettle, my 2c.
I met a couple in the Caroline Islands with an identical BBQ and they had removed the guts and were using it as a charcoal BBQ. Same issues as I had.
The metering valves--either for bottle or hose connection must be made in O. Mongolia. Easily broken and hard to know what setting you are using.
Ok, my 4cents.
I am in
Argentina now and a friend is bringing down 2 burner tubes and we will begin to asado like the pros. Well, almost. The Argies all use charcoal fire.
