Ok , i mentioned this in another thread, and forgot about it until i saw it on tv on a new show called FAIRLY LEGAL... the 'star character' lives on a sailboat.. not sure what kind but effing nice...

I use a sauté pan....chicks dig it...especially the marmalade in the morning.

thanks, and the stovetop toaster is something my grandmother used and i loved it.. I mentioned somethign about it in another thread and didnt think they made it anymore.. which is why i posted it.. just for info...

Hopefully I'm not as old as you grandmother but when I was a kid we made toast by buttering the pan and laying slices of bread in, flipping it over to get just the right color.

Then if you put in a piece of cheese between a couple toast then we'd have a...................

that is grilled toast, that is something different.

these stovetop are toasted. but differently then the normal electric toasters...

the stovetop toaster kinda singes the bread so it has a 'burnt' type of flavor.. kinda like roasted marshmellos... they are good nice and golden brown, but if they have the slight burnt on it it is better.

Those things have been around for years. I used one in the boy scouts back in the 70's. You can get one at any camping place.

While they do work the toast is a bit second rate. Different taste.

There is a stainless one carried by West Marine that goes on the stove top..works really well, better than those fold up camping kind that one sees everywhere. Toast is well interesting on a boat that is not plugged in to shore power, I admit. have done the pan thing...like that little toaster.

Tried on of the cheap stove type from wally world.They make toast about as well as they float.Neat site,(living aboard),thanks fb.marc

Yes, I use the 4-slice Coleman camp toaster. Works fine, so long as you keep an eye on the toast. $6 at Walmart. Folds flat.

I also have the Coleman camp toaster from Wally World. I think it works great, but you do have to watch it as unlike an electric toaster it does not shut off automatically. I use it on a propane burner and have not noticed any unusual tastes. I wonder if some of the reported off flavors in earlier posts might have been on differently fueled stoves.
