Any Coffee Drinkers ?

I would like to see:
a drip coffee unit
that you add hot water that you heated off the stove (if the pot could also be the unit you slid into the coffee maker that would be great)
that dripped the coffee into an insulated pot to keep it hot
and the pot need to be boat rated that does break when dropped etc
an under the cabinet mount would be great

Since I also backpack, I use my Jetboil cooking system on the boat. I can have a hot meal or cup of coffee (with the jetboil french press) in about 2 minutes. A can of fuel lasts a LONG time. We cooked for three people for a week in Yellowstone, including daily coffee and hot chocolate and never used a fuel canister up.

They have a stabalizing system for the canister and I use it to cook Mountain House dehydrated food products when on the trail. Everything fits inside the mug. This is definately a ditch bag item for me.

I use an inverter and brew up to 10 cups in a Mr. Coffee at a time. In bad seas it can be a problem, but I tie it down with a bungee cord-that is a bungee cord around the glass pot to keep in place. After it is made I turn off the inverter. Pour the coffee into a thermos. Works like a charm.

I'm using a Bialetti drip coffee maker and I'm ok with it. I can use an espresso machine but you don't get as much in one pot and I like a lot more. I'm puzzled why its so hard to do something as simple as make coffee. The 12volt units eat up battery power and I'm challenged by anything complex like a coffee press at 7am. Grinding beans doesn't appeal to me either!

Well, for simplicity one could just take a teaspoon of coffee grounds and place in mouth and wash down with cold water.

No pots, no electric, no fuss. Eh?

I prefer to sip my coffee, but I know a few sailors who use the teaspoon method.

With my toddymaker, I have no grinds on board. Just a shot glass full in a cup, add hot water and you've got your coffee, or more shot glasses if you prefer something stronger. I have heard stories of college students doing an all night cram session passing out shot glasses of this stuff straight up. Did them good!

I still have this marvelous drip funnel that fits inside the mouth of an old stainless Thermos. I cut a hole in the counter top and put a little shelf below the hole, so the Thermos is securely held. Love my coffee. I also have a backpacker's espresso device, stainless, that sits on the burner.

I would like to share one startling discovery I made; using a hand grinder makes an infinitely better cup of coffee than using a machine grinder. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's true.
I've heard of folks that roast their own beans every morning, but I'm not that crazy yet.
