After SeaTow once quoted me nearly a grand to move my boat 200 yards from a nearby beach to a Marina after a balky outboard left me

...sitting on the beach just outside the Marina, I gave TowBoats US a long hard look, that's my current provider.

i have used both and prefer Boat US.

That said, make sure the towboat captain tells you what his plan is for helping you. I had one INCREDIBLY bad tow from Boat US. If I'd had just a little more experience I wouldn't have allowed it, called his supervisor if necesary.

Re: Sea Tow or Boat US?

Hi,
I just wanted to give everyone an update on TowBoat US. My boat needed towing. There was a 30 day wait period and I as 29 days from that. I asked them them if they could tow it on one day and they said no. They were rude and horrible on the phone. I cancelled my membership, I joined Sea Tow and for the same price as a regular tow, Sea Tow included a one year membership. I am so so so glad I cancelled my membership with those horrible tow boat us people. I can not tell everyone how rude they were on the phone, or how police the sea tow people were. Gosh am I ever glad I changed. For the same price I got my boat towed and a one year membership on top of the towing price. STAY AWAY FROM TOW BOAT US, do yourself a favor.

Don't you love these first posts from new members that disparage suppliers or service providers? As in this case, they seldom provide any useful details or any identifying information.

mmercado, could you please tell me how much "a regular tow" costs? Were you 29 days into the wait period or were you on day one of the wait period. It's unclear from your post.
