Basically, a loop of Dyneema
, often threaded through webbing for padding, is placed on the bottom, and other lines are luggage tagged to it. It can be at the dock
end or the boat
end.A separate line can then be looped over the cleat or hitched to the cleat without interference
, since the Dyneema
loop takes very little space.
More or larger cleats
are better, but sometimes you get what you get. I do this on the boat
end where I need two lines but the cleats
are too small. A contributing factor is often an oddball mooring
situation, not uncommon for multihulls.
