Okeechobee Waterway-Port Mayaka RR lift bridge

Squeaked under..but be aware ..no more than 3mins after passing under we turned around the lift bridge was down and the train whistle gave warning and 30 secs latter the train passed over..though there is a red flashing light of prior warning..we didnt see it..

Very little warning..Sri about that that’s how the picture was down loaded..and no it’s not from down under

..another piece of warning was missing as well.. there was suppose to be a flag man on the bridge preceding the train checking for boat traffic before lowering the bridge..none was seen..

I went through there a while back. I waited over 45 minutes, the bridge was down. A bunch of guys were messing around on the south side.

Anyway, after a long wait, a pick-up came along on the tracks and then they opened the bridge!!

Interesting,I was there by car in April 2019 to check the bridge height, a northbound train (sugar company) approached, it stopped just before the road,the engineer got down and walked over to a control box and set the bridge in motion,after they passed over,the bridge rose without help !
