From Dominican Republic to Florida

Hi Community

I intend to sail in March/April from the Caribbean to Florida and want to stop by the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.

Especially for the Bahamas I need a good cruising guide. Can you advice please.

I donot recommend the DR unless you are prepared to pay bribes and speak spanish.
I had some very bad encounters with the military. Actually nothing that money won't cure.
The general population are great and if you get to Lupern you will meet a gentleman that owns the moorings named Papa . He can get supplies water and Fuel .And the mooring balls only 2 dollars per night .
He does speak English but does not act as a go-between to the military.

For the Bahamas you need both the Explorer Charts and Steve Pavilidis' Guides.
In both cases there are different area coverages, so you may not need all of them.
For the Abacos (if you get that far North) Steve Dodge's Guide is very good.
