Re: Dead Down Wind?

I know this is somewhat off subject a little but i would appreciate some input. On my CS 30 It came with a "whisker pole"...now i have never used it but now that I reading about your down wind comments I would love to ask two questions. Is there any part of the ICW from NC to the keys that a whisker pole could be used if winds were favorable or is the ICW too full of twist and turns that makes it ineffective. The 2nd question...is there any danger using it....or disadvantage to using it...thanks
