Last summer I had a brand new 5 gallon can strapped on
deck starboard side mid ship. One with the fancy new anti pore spout. Well it was warm and the
wind was nonexistent so we went for a swim. While we are swimming I start to smell gas real strong. I'm thinking what the check is going on. So I swim to the
boat and find an oil slick on the
water. Opon climbing aboard I see fuel on the coach roof and I find that the whole guts to the anti pore mechanism in the spout had been blown out by the internal pressure witch sprayed fuel all over the boat! Thank God we were in the
water, thank God we weren't
cooking in the
galley. I'm sure if we had been
cooking there would have been an explosion.
