It's not the wrong name for those of us in the know. We get it!

Some folks are stickers for that sort of thing especially those with too much time on their hands

You can take anything to the Nth degree just check out one of the threads on solar and battery charging with folks worrying themselves over tenth's of volts.

Such is the state of discourse and anti-intellectual fervor in the US. You can't even suggest people call things by their proper name without facing grade school taunts.

When you indignantly refer to something by the wrong name, the rest of us have to bear the burden by adding language when we mean a "full keel, as in, the kind that runs bow to stern and doesn't have a cutaway forefoot." Shame.

Also, its "stickler". Have a nice life.

Well like I said it's for those with too much time on their hands like you.

I'm not a typist so misspellings are part of the deal

As far as my full keel Bristol 27 goes though, I will continue describing it as such.

If It's good enough for Practical Sailor (and Bristol Yachts.org) it's good enough for me and should be good enough for "stickers" like you!.

From the Practical Sailor Bristol 27 Review:

The Design
The Bristol 27 is a product of its era and of the traditional bent of Alberg’s thinking—that is, a combination cruiser and club racer. At 6,600 pounds displacement with 2,575 pounds of internal lead ballast in its full keel, the boat is fairly heavy by contemporary standards. Fast enough on its own merits, it has an average PHRF rating of 234. By comparison, the lighter Catalina 27 with fin keel and spade rudder has a PHRF rating of about 210, and the Cal 27, also with a divided underbody, a rating of 192 to 200. Clearly, the Bristol was designed to be seaworthy rather than swift.

From Bristol Yachts.org:

Statistics
Hull type: Full keel
LOA: 27.2 feet
LWL: 19.75 feet
Beam: 8 feet
Draft: 4 feet
Displacement: 6,600 pounds
Designer: Carl Alberg
Water tank: 20 gallons
Fuel tank: 22 gallons
PHRF New England: 240
Motion comfort ratio: 28.87
