If you are unable to move your boat yourself you may need to get help from shore. La Paz is full of permanent boaters, most of whom can see your situation from the nearby marinas and restaurants. Go ashore or use the morning net to ask for some help. You can use the weather conditions to facilitate your move. Best done when the tide or wind permits a strong pull in the correct direction so your anchor will set.
Good Luck.

Re: Anchored Too Close
I'm curious, how did you get that number?
What am I missing here. I clicked on the link, but I can't see the number anywhere.
I need to be "edumacated", please help.
Thanks.
Paul.

C'mon, be inventive, look at the mmsi page and expand the Vessel wiki box, it's right there.

Thanks for your kind help. It was very considerate of you to show me how to do that; without attempting to make me feel in any way inferior, for not knowing all the ins and outs of MarineTraffic.com
Cheers.

The Alden is already sailing on its anchor several boat lengths side to side.

No, you are not RAM, and he is not burdened. Jettison those ideas.
Either shorten scope, or pull up anchor and reanchor somewhere else. Those are your two options.

Absolute worst outcome here is that someone calls a number for a boat that looks a lot like the yawl in question and it's the wrong number.

Hi Paul, greetings from Melbourne Australia where I’ve been following this adventure of the OP.
I understand where you’re coming from, both in regards to the tone of the reply, also finding information about a vessel. I’m logged in on the app on both my phone and iPad and the mobile number is not displayed - at least that I can see. Can see the MMSI but that’s it.
Yet I can find the mobile number for the vessel on their website when not logged in. It seems weird that you can see this info on the website but not the app. Surely contact info is critical information that should be available in all formats?
I have the paid starter plan, maybe that’s it. (I’m expecting to complete the purchase of a yacht in a couple of weeks - I digress...).
Anyway, enjoy learning and exploring.
Regards, David

Re: Anchored Too Close
Thanks Far Horizon.
I hadn't scrolled that far down the page, and didn't even know there was a wiki part. After a few clicks on "page down", and only seeing "membership required" type of information, I just figured it was somewhere requiring membership.
It turns out I had to click the "page down" button 8 times to get to the right section; then, with the gracious help provided by Stu, I found the proper tab.
8 pages down...
Oh well. I'd rather be sailing anyway.
Cheers.
Paul.

Have a peek at post #38 in this thread. It's all there. Including what to click on to find it.

Re: Anchored Too Close
Yes, thanks. I thought your post, # 38, was an indirect, and kind, response to my question posed in post 33.
I had meant to thank you for that series of screen shots. Thank you.
Cheers.
Paul.
