Anchor set and retrieval system

This is our particular system noting powerboats or weak bowroller boats might prefer a separate bouy to crown.

2 shackles of strength = chain link -1. Eg shackle marginally weaker than chain.
End of chain shackled to crown eye.
Chain laid along shank.
Shank eye shackled to link yet positioned such that the chain doesn't lift the crown up.
Hence a pull along lay is forced along the lay of shank.

Strength was confirmed by boat bow and pitch lever to snap shackle.

To set. The anchor is lowered into position and tugged at via a short lay until the leading edge of the plough face has made a cut in the sea bed. It is seen with feel, visually disappeared. Anchor line is then fed out until we believe the pull on the anchor will share contour of sea bed. Dependant upon tide, more maybe released.

If anchor ever beds into a non retrievable lift, the bow protector will be used to use the vessels natural fulcrum to snap the shackle and retrieve the anchor. Although both shackles are same, she'll pull out via crown because the snap hit the shank eye and the plough is reversing out of the hold.
The chain is heavy enough to lay with a vessel our volume. The shackles are almost as strong as the chain links. The snap to retrieve hasn't happened.

We are very comfortable with this system.
I will not discuss. Feel free to discuss.
The anchor is reset after major variables depending upon location. Unless very hidden (we are 1 foot draft with a 12 degree heel dry). Major variables include wind shift, tide change, swell change.

Have a good night.
(6 dolphins really did escort my canine and I in from 12+ fathoms. We pick up a lot of other peoples rubbish and they might know that.)
