Yep, another new member.

Hi, I have had the desire to become a cruiser for a long time. I'm just now starting to see the light at the end of the financial tunnel. So I'm hear to learn more so that in a year when I'm 100% debt free I can be ready to start saving for a boat. And get my ASA 101,103 & 104. I have a ton of questions. If anyone wants to reach out and let me pick there brain with a few of my top questions while I poke around the forum that would be great. I hate to throw out the same old noob questions.

Re: Yep, another new member.

Hi, Squid Bait,

Welcome aboard CF. Please don't worry about noobie questions, we all started at 0, except the ones who grew up on boats and absorbed a lot from whoever was around.

Just wear chain mail or something, when reading the reactions, sometimes people are grumpy, and it comes across.

Now, Squid Bait, I have a little story for you. Your screen name reminded me. One day, a few years ago, Jim and I were sailing back from Recherche Bay in Tasmania, towards Hobart, and we were trailing a lure...it was a cedar plug, iirc. Suddenly, it became obvious we had caught something, there was a sudden load on the line, and the bungee stretched taut. Imagine, we caught a squid on a lure! Good grief, Charlie Brown! And, Jim, masterly, figured out a way to cook it, too. Pretty tasty!

Anyhow, welcome aboard, again, and ask away. Learning the various poster's screen personality can be interesting. You'll soon find out whom you want to listen to.

Ann
