Re: Why Steady Hand is Now Steadman Uhlich
Steady your clarification is what we would like all members of CF would be.
I also choose to use my real name. I believe it helps keep me sincere and non confrontational.
PS. You are an artist I knew there was something I like about you, I own an art supply store...

I write at least twice as many comments as I actually post. If it’s a hot topic I try and force myself to slow down and let a response sit for a while. And much like asking when to reef, if I’m wondering if my response is inappropriate, then it probably is .

So far I am still single, and so far I am not on any "Wanted" posters in the Post Office or police department.
But I understand if I had numerous ex-wives, having some anonymity (and unlisted phone number) would be a thing to consider.
Good luck to you.

Same here! I chuckled as I read your comment above. I have deleted many comments I thought to post, but thought the same as you did above.
I am saving some for my memoirs.

I think it is good you chose to use your real name, it is an easy one to remember and a good one for a sailor. I think it will be a good conversation starter as you voyage in the South Pacific.
Just be careful when you get to Hawaii.
Yes, I am an artist, and a sucker for art supplies in art supply stores.
There are several very good artists and photographers among the members here on CF.

Re: Why Steady Hand is Now Steadman Uhlich
I'm not ready to reveal myself at this time. Just being paranoid I guess. Hopefully Diesel William will suffice for now. I delete many of my posts before posting as I see others have already answered as well as I could or in many cases even better with more detail.
I'm a terrible typist. Hunt and peck and takes me a long time. Hopefully some time in the future I'll feel secure enough to give a last name. No one is after me as far as I know.
Firm believer in what goes around comes around. Going to drive to the boat early A.M.
Bought 4 -6 volt deep cycle batteries and fun begins tomorrow. My back hurts just thinking about it.

I was always afraid the cia/fib agent tasked with monitoring my internet usage would "out" me anyways so I've always just used my name.

I have found your posted comments about Diesel engines helpful.
I type with one finger, much of the time. So I know slow.
If you are a slow typist, and want to write more, I highly recommend buying a used iPad, then use the voice to text feature. It is as simple as touching the microphone button and then talking to the computer or iPad or smart phone.
I am using the voice to text feature on my iPad to write this to you right now. It is very easy. It is very fast. It is more accurate than most typists are.
When I got carpal tunnel syndrome a mild case in my wrist I begin using voice to text to write. It is as easy as speaking to the computer. And surprisingly accurate!
Hope that helps!

Re: Why Steady Hand is Now Steadman Uhlich
My typing speed is fantastic, my thinking and spelling speed really sucks.
If it weren't for spellcheck, I could not spell my own name.
I am oft reminded of something I read MANY years ago: "The person who can only spell a word only one way has no imagination at all."

Spellcheck is great!
What we need next in social media is Automatic Fact Check.
