We're Back . . .

Hello again, all!
Returned to CF after a couple of years or so of inactivity (new username). We moved our boat (and ourselves!) to South Florida from Texas, and now live near the coast. Boat is located in Palm Beach County.
She's a Catalina 42 Mk I with a shoal draft keel. We're in the process of a refit and getting the boat ready for coastal cruising here. New Genoa on order from Mack Sails in Stuart, FL.
Planning to do quite a bit of cruising locally, and eventually to the Bahamas, which are a day's sail away.
We're looking forward to returning to being active members of the CF community, and particularly to getting together with other CF members who live nearby for cruising fun!
Perhaps as the repairs continue, I'll share some of our technical issues and trials and tribulations for discussions here.
Look forward to chatting!
Pete and Suz

Re: we're back....

Welcome back.

Let us know how the new sail works out with Macke. I bought a new jib from them back when it was Mack-Shaw and am planning on a new main next year.

Thanks for the welcome!!

Thanks to all for the kind words!
We have a guy at the boat right now looking at the wind instruments (Raymarine ST60) which got messed up when the mast was restepped after the long overland journey by truck from Texas to Florida. Also have a guy cleaning growth off the bottom and changing the zincs.
I can feel the wallet twitching....
This weekend......the motor(s).....
Suz watches the budget like a hawk, so I have to carefully spread out the expenditures.
Getting ready to cruise. I lost the genoa in a squall coming into Stuart Inlet. New one should be fininshed withina week.

It's where you spend money in a misguided effort to replace obsolescent, worn-out gear with stuff that will become obsolescent by the time you've paid off your credit card.
