We bought our first sailboat!
My better half and I are now the proud owners of a 1976 Pearson 35. Lots of refit work ahead but haven't been this excited since I was a teenager. We are docked at Joyner Marina in Carolina Beach.

Congrats!
We have a 1977 Bristol, and did a bunch of refit ourselves, the work you guys do will save you large coin, and teach you about everything on your boat. If you feel like it, check out our blog, we listed everything we did to include costs, it may or may not be helpful to you. Enjoy the adventure! “If it’s gonna happen it will happen out there”

Fossil fuel free and possibly switch to a junk rigged setup.

Re: We bought our first sailboat!
Best of luck with your new old boat. The Pearson brothers built some very fine and sturdy boats. Hope she floats your dreams for many years.

Re: We bought our first sailboat!
Boy oh boy - hurry up with that refit. You are going to have a ball! We had a 1979 Pearson 365 and had a lot of fun. Hands down my favorite boat to date for safety and ease of sailing - built like a brick youknow.
A suggestion - ours was a pig in light air until we put a Maxprop on it - then watchout. Prior to the Maxprop we needed 15 kts of wind to get moving, afterward we were ghosting along in 2 knots. I thought the new prop would allow us to go faster and was surprised at how much it helped with little wind (I hate turning on the engine).
Congrats and enjoy!
