Time to Meet and Greet, then...

Hello all, wonderful to fall upon such an amazing community and resource whilst hunting for help on Google!
We own an EG van der Stadt designed Gallant 53 and she is about as old as we are, so we often have issues to resolve.
Currently facing the rebuild or replace the perkins 4236 dilemma. Thanks to this site we are tending toward the rebuild option with TAD and already feeling better.
Hopefully we will have her back in the water in time for our annual Christmas holiday sail...
Long term plan is to embark on the Pacific crossing in 2012 with the kids!
Thanks again for this fab site.

Welcome to the forum Tamlin.
I replaced my engine, If I could have got a professional rebuild It would have been a much better way to go.
The key is “Professional” rebuild....if you can get that, you'll be leagues ahead in all regards.
Good luck and keep us posted on the work.

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
That's a great engine so rebuild is a good idea.
regards,
