Greetings from Sunny South Africa - only one long trip under the belt - Cape Town to Rio de Janeiro, on a Montevideo 43, and then along came kids, so it was back to suburbia and the white picket fence.

Now the only cruising we do is on Optimists, Lasers and a 27 foot pocket rocket.

But we can hear the deep blue of the Atlantic Calling ...................

Many of our yacht club members cruise to Madagascar and surrounds, so if you need first hand advice I can help or put you in touch with someone.

Here's another one.

I am "boatless" at this point in time, however, I just finished the plans of my retirement yacht. Construction starts Jan 05 and should be completed in 3 years time

She is 12.8m LOA, 4.00m Beam, Draft 1.5 m, Disp 11800kg. Steel raduis chine, modern pilothouse (raised saloon) and double headsail sloop.
Twin asymetrical bulb keels with twin rudders mounted on full skegs.

My old lady and I plan an extended cruise of 5 - 7 years to the South Pacific via Panama Canal, ending up in Australia.

Any info about such a cruise would be appreciated.
