Sydney Calling

Hello everyone,

Greetings from Sydney. We're first time forumers, getting ready for our big adventure with the beautiful Mary Blair. Hope to head off April 2011, leaving from Sydney, turning left, with the eventual target of Japan or thereabouts. Plan needs a little fine tuning!
Mary's a 42ft sloop, and we're giving her a mini makeover for her 40th birthday this year.

We'd love to hear from anyone else in the Sydney area who's their big trip!

Kats and Fred

Is that the same Mary Blair that was once owned by Shirley Strachan of Skyhooks fame?

She used to have a red hull years ago - remember he sailed her in the Sydney to Hobart back in the early 80's.

Good solid proven boat - you will be able to go anywhere in her.

Might even see you on the way past? I am not too far up the coast maybe planning similar, but with a big reach to the East before a heading north.

G'Day Kat and Fred,

Another welcome to the forum from a pair of Yanks, currently hanging about in Broken Bay. Wonder where you have your boat? We'll be around the area for another 6 weeks or so, and might run across y'all somewhere.

Cheers,

Jim and Ann s/v Insatiable II lying Morning Cove, NSW, Oz
