SV Klaatu - me first boat!

Hey all,

I’m a lifelong sailor, i’ve raced nationally in the laser class, but i recently bought a 1975 Cal 2-27 to be my tiny home afloat. This summer I plan on moving her down the colombia river from up nesr the McNary Dam down to Portland (oregon) where I am going to college.

I’m new to liveaboard life as well as long distance sailing. My first upcoming sail home being a journey of nearly 200 miles downstream.

Any advice would be much appriciated. I can’t wait to learn from y’all.

The Columbia River - McNary Dam and the Umatilla Rapids

Wow, Lake McNary goes all the way to Hanford. I've drifted that stretch by White Bluffs in a 14ft runabout.
