Suggestions Needed

Hello,

Had a bad guy put sand in my water tanks...anybody have any sugesstions?

If you can get to them and pull them without dismantling half your cabin, the go for it. If they have access ports you can use a water vacuum to clean them out. Other wise, you are going to have to disconnect your water line and start flushing the tanks out until you no longer have sand coming out. At that point, I would install a filter to catch any stray sand so you don't damage pumps or seals.

Submerge bad guy in sea water.....ambient temperature will do.... At least two minutes. ;-)

Disconnect outlet hose(s) & flush tanks out into yr bilge having first lifted yr bilge pumps out of harm's way .... then pump out yr bilge including sand using a cheapo hand pump ... last dregs can be sucked up with a wet / dry vac ..... before reconnecting system flush yr freshwater pump(s) .... same with yr bilge pump(s) ....

Next .... plan your revenge ...

If it is sand and not dirt, it will for the most part stay on the bottom of the tank unless extreme conditions. Do your best to get it all but, if you have top p/u lines, which you should, you won't be able to draw the last inch or so.

Next thing to do is eat 3-4 Ex-Lax, find his deck fill and return the favor...

I had the dockmaster pump out/flush three times and all seems ok, bilge pump, water pump good. Ice maker seems to have the most damage (oh well). And I did wonder if locking covers were available. Maybe I don't need to actually eat the ex-lax first, just drop in the whole package.

He towed his boat in about a month ago, had a lady "friend" aboard, less than a week later two Sheriff Deputies were there. Apparently he had "hired" her to help him with his boat because he had a broken arm. He wanted benefits, she didn't, said she wasn't a prostitute and had a friend pick her up. Then at sunset he was pacing back and forth on my dock pretending to look for alligators. I called the Harbormaster twice and told him if he did that again I would call the cops. He did not like being told by the Harbormaster to stay off my dock. As a female alone, stupid men assume that I am vulnerable. Having spent more than 30 years in the Navy I could teach him that I'm not. Since than every single dock has complained about him, and the dockmaster said he got kicked out of our marina before for phisically threatening the previous Harbormaster, also female. He's just a bully.

sounds like a lovely cretin.... make a locking device and or place filters between tanks and pumps so pumps dont in the future get foule3d to point of replacement or rebuilding-- this kind of creep doesnt quit easily. good luck -- try a louisville slugger with a heavy ss gaff on it when ye come out of your boat and he is on the dock..... seems to work well.....
