I have found your site and the friendly camaraderie to be invaluable.
A life dream is starting to fall into place as I am now retired and about to sell the house. My previous
boat,
hull # 17,
Corsair F27 folding
trimaran, “Three Play” was recently
sold after almost 20 years of cruising and a few years of
racing. Most of it was done in the
San Francisco Bay area, but also Lake Tahoe, Southern
California and
Mexico. A trailerable
boat has many advantages. My first two boats were monohulls, in
Vancouver, and Toronto.
I will be coming down in the world from three hulls to two, and trading the speed, exhilaration and excitement of sailing an F27 on
SF Bay, to comfortable
live-aboard cruising. I have ordered a
Leopard 40 catamaran (Changing Spots), and will take
delivery and move aboard after she is the demo boat at the 2008
Miami boat show. I was seriously looking into an OSSA hybrid
diesel electric system from Glacier Bay (they made the
diesel electric system for the electric
Leopard 43), but was not willing to wait another three months for systems development, as required by the
builder, R&C. Sorry to disappoint you, but there will not be a diesel electric hybrid
Leopard 40 at the 2008
Miami boat show.
The saga has been, and will continue to be documented on my website:
Changing Spots Home Page
I am also setting up a Yahoo group (Leopardcats) for
Leopard and Moorings
catamaran owners and wannabes, but that will be deferred until the house is tidied up and on the market.
Thank you.
