Sold Everything to sail.

Hello everyone.

Just a quick post to introduce myself and my wife Michelle. We were owners/operators of a hopping busy cafe in the quaint little town of Chemainus on Vancouver Island, BC Canada. We have recently sold our cafe, building and many of our personal belongings to go sailing.

We currently own a Catalina 30 which we are living on with our Mexican rescue named Chica. Yep, this boat is getting smaller every day! We are boat shopping and having frustrations as many of you appear to have had as well. The search continues...another thread.

We are lucky however as our boat shopping will take a small break as our brother on the other side of the country in New Brunswick has offered us the opportunity to sail down the ICW to Florida and the Bahamas this season for a trial run at the cruising life. We plan to leave as early as we can in October to sail South.

We look forward to participating in these forums.

Phil and Michelle

Re: Sold Everything to sail.

Nice to meet you Phil and Michelle, welcome aboard CF.

You can look at Jim's and my profile page if you want a return intro to us in more detail: we are long term cruisers.

Good luck with your plans (it always helps! ) .

Fair winds,

Ann

Re: Sold Everything to sail.

You are going to love that east coast trip. Esp the Bahamas. Whole different world than here in the PNW for sure.
Personally I would get south of Cape Hatteras by end of October or sooner.

Howdy and Welcome Aboard CF!

It sounds like you have caught the sailing bug bigtime.

Bon Voyage!
