small tri, big desire

Good morning folks
a quick intro and a little about myself. My name is Rudi aka Tour. I hail from South Africa and have had the good fortune of spending my early 20's working as a yachty on mid sized sailing boats. From decky to skipper. After being land based for 10 years i could just not get rid of my desire for the ocean.
After 5 days of renting a hobie islander with my ex in Thailand the trimaran bug had started making sense. So back home i bought myself a little Tri-Star 18 and use her often in Langebaan and Saldanha lagoon. Have spent a max of 5 days onboard her exploring the Lagoon, like a gypsy
It had really set my adventure spirit in motion again. So the plan is to start looking for the perfect vessel to leave it all and sail the world. On something bigger though. Now to look for and plan for the right vessel, mono, cat or tri???? And how to sustain it all? So a lot of planning lies ahead.
Hopefully i will get a lot of info right here.
Thanks
