Re: small motorcycle on a liveaboard ???

I've seen a motorcycle carried on a boat. I don't know if the owner lived aboard or not. He had a fairly good sized crane to lift it from the dock to the boat. It was high enough on the boat that it wouldn't likely get sprayed by sea water but there would still be corrosion. I don't know how he dealt with that.

A waterproof cover would go a long way towards preserving the motorcycle.

The point about being legal in different countries is well taken. Check into it before going any further.

That is one way cool toy!

My ground transport has evolved and evolved a few times. I once owned a Diblasi folding motorcycle, but still a big space consumer.

I absolutely love my current scheme of what is now called "last mile" transport. It is hugely made up of electric stand up scooters. The monstrous advantage to me is that they are still small enough to NEVER be out of my sight. Not something I could say about all the other things I tried. I have 2 Momas scooters aboard. Together they take up less space than one folding bicycle.

I thought of converting the deck level guest bedroom on ours into a garage for my mc but would need a marina berth to load/ offload.
Cost of marina berth for 1 day equates to 3 day car hire.

The other option is an electric bike, from an electric foldable, to the normal urban/mountain ebike, fat bikes, cargo bikes, all the way up to a 5-10kw monster that'll pop a wheel-e. They are all <30-75 lbs, as much range as you want to buy/carry extra batteries. Buy a stock bike bag to wrap it all up and strap it to your rail.

Re: small motorcycle on a liveaboard ???

A most encouraging thread , ( a Busa on a sail boat !!?? ). Kind of gives me hope to get my Ducati and my Harley onto my 36' cat , bit unlikely tho but I am sure with a bit of sacrifice and ingenuity perhaps a Bultaco or Montessa 250 ( ish ) would be a viable possibility, certainly be a great way of exploring any local terrain, getting to the shops etc . All off-road to add to the fun .

Re: small motorcycle on a liveaboard ???

My DR weighs in at about 350lbs.
Dont think any of sailboats i am looking at will handle that weight, nor the size.

Actually no thinking about it. they will not.
