Serendipity

Hi all,

I found this forum by chance (having Googled for "AIS Antenna") and found some interesting threads.

I guess this is the bit where I talk about myself. First boat was a sailing dinghy when I was a teenager. But then I discovered women, got a job, got married, so no time for boat. Promised myself I'd buy another when I retired. I gave up work early, about 6 years ago and bought that boat: a Bavaria 47!

The boat is currently in Sardinia, on route from the Greek Cyclades to the Canary Islands, I plan to get there sometime in September. I spent a month there last winter, doing the Yachtmaster Theory course and exam, and the Coastal Skipper practical course. I plan to do the Yachtmaster Ocean when I feel I'm ready.

Stuff I know about: SCUBA diving, electrics / electronics, computers.
Stuff I don't know about: women (or so my wife tells me)

Looking forward to meeting you guys.

Welcome aboard. You'll find a wealth of information imbedded in strongly held opinions around here and most of our wives would cliaim the same opinion as yours

Re: Serendipity

Welcome aboard Nigel……. the wonderful similarity between women and boats is:

… That the things you learn about them along the way is inversely related to the naive reason you got interested in them in the first place…..

At CF, we just call it seamanship and enjoy sharing our learning experience...(but serendipity works for me...)
