Salish Sea Cruising Newbie
My wife and I are looking forward to learning and getting out on the Puget Sound (now known as the Salish Sea) here in the State of Washington. We are in the process of purchasing our first sailboat, a 1972 Macgregor 25V with trailer and after we and friends who sail, check it out in detail we will launch here near Olympia. Looking at the 3rd week in September as I have commitments until then.
Look for the "Pioneer Spirit" and say hello!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Salish Sea? Never heard that one. Anyway, you have a beautiful area in which to sail and the weather should be great for a couple more months, maybe?
kind regards,

It's a relatively new designation.

We have a great bunch of sailors here- although they are kinda shy to meet face to face
Look back at our sub-forum and there are a bunch of good lessons about the tides and weather.

The "Salish Sea" designator is similar to "Great Lakes". None of the existing names of bays, inlets, etc. have been changed. The reason for the designator is to draw attention to the fact that although two countries share this area it is one ecosystem and needs to be managed as such.
