Sailing w/Letters of Marque & Reprisal

AVAST!

Gandalf's Great Speed and Stealth denies all intrusive endeavours! Our last encounter was with the US Navy~ after firing two shots across the bows of a submarine and asking her to heave to and prepare for boarding......she submerged and ran like a scalded dawg into the deep~Arrrrrrhh!!
The USCG sent an armed cutter from Key West to subdue us last season~ We were able to sail into port Key West~ Firing cannons at the USCG base and then under full sail we took a berth in Key West Bight Marina~ We were engaged in battle with the Schooners AppleDore, Western Union and Wolf several times in Key West Harbour as well as a battle with the armed soldiers of the Union who attempted to thwart us from ashore~ An attempt to board The Mighty Gandalf at 45nm offshore by the USCG was resisted easily, yet we were warned for excessive speed under sail while showing no steaming light! Gandalf attacked the Port of Miami~ firing 17 cannon rounds at the Hard Rock Cafe, Dick's Last Resort and Sharky's at Miamarina Bayside~ We elected to leave the Guitar in place atop the Hard Rock as a courtesy.

Plans are under way to attack the Castillo De San Marcos in St. Augustine for the Greater Glory of the Republic!

Well shiver me timbers.

When the Gandalf sails north to take Casa San Marcos, if planning a surprise attack up the Matanzas river (aka: ICW in these parts) much like the british did, take warning that the spanish put a sentry fort on Rattlesnake Island about eleven miles to the south. It's a must-see national monument with a good anchorage in fast currents due east of the fort (fort Matanzas). It's lightly guarded and you should be able to take her with little or no force.
