Sailing Newbie

Good morning,
My name is Randall and at 51 years old, I am brand new to sailing. I have just signed aboard of a tall ship as a volunteer crewman and am begin a 2.5 week training program on the 26th. As I've no sailing and little boating experience, as one might imagine, this is a bit daunting, but I am a retired combat engineer NCO and have completed numerous army service schools, so I think I'll be okay.
I hope I am in the right place. If there is another more appropriate forum for persons in my position, I hope you will kindly redirect me.
V/r

Re: Sailing Newbie

Welcome to CF Randall -

What a great way to get your feet wet (metaphorically speaking, of course). I would never have thought of a tall ship as a training arena for an adult but it's really perfect isn't it? We get tall ships in our area and they are swarming with 15-20 year olds).

Let us know how it goes.

Howdy and Welcome Aboard CF!

Tall ship to start?

How cool! I wish I could do that too.

Which ship? Where located?

Hold Fast!
