S2

Hi I'm new here and interested in all the topics that are being discussed.
I live in Rockford, IL and plan to sail out of Winthrop Harbor this summer.
I eventually want to motor down to the Gulf in our S2 11.0 A with a 5'.6"
keel. I know it will be a little deep for some areas as I have read. Any advice will be appreciated. Will be looking forward to lots of interesting days ahead.
Anyone here that knows anything about an S2 11.0?
Like to know about the sailing characteristics of this boat since I haven't
been on her yet. Just bought it. Plan on sailing it across Lake Michigan in May to bring it home to North Point in Winthrop Harbor from Whitehall, MI.
Thanks,
Dave

Welcome aboard! - you will get lots of good information here.

We lived in Rockford for a while, and still have family there.

Used to sail on a 11.0A frequently, solid boat, fast enough, good all around. If you ever decide to sell it consider that you may never be able to replace it.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your comments on the S2. I felt it was
a special boat when I first saw it.
