S/v BooBoat in key West Fl U.S.

Hi,
I’m Gregory in Key West.
The boat is a 34 Grampian center pit ketch in need of some repair I’ve slowly been putting it back together over the last year. The engine was shot so I took a course at the local community college and fixed it myself!
Live aboard with wife and two kids, 9 month and 7yr boys .needless to say boat is very full!
Bought boat with plans of taking 7yr old to D.R. but things change and now am tied to wharf.
boats blog is at

Hi Greg,

I used to own that boat... good luck.
Great live-aboard... lot's o room. We had 5 cats (the Muffins). Sailed like a bathtub though it did save our asses off of Marco Island... pretty much bullet proof.
What's wrong w/ the engine?

Wow its a small world! are you the one that sold it to tim? it had gimini painted over on transom.
It does sail pretty soildily! i get boats flying by me in any wind.
The engine needs a new exhast manifold- it sat for years- without being drained.
I asked the guy i bought it from where the dipstick was,He didnt know!said he just poured a few quarts in once in awhile. At that point i should have RUN!

Aloha Keyspc,
Welcome aboard! I've heard that the Grampians are solid boats but have never met one. Good to have you here on the forum and it is unbelievable that you've already corresponded with a previous owner.
Kind regards,
JohnL
