Oldie Becomes a Newbie.......Update

Months of searching and looking at loads of yachts I have done it.

Found my new love in Croatia and, with a bit of haggle, bought her at a reasonable price.

She is an SAS 39. Built by Vector Yachts of Zagreb (who normally make boats for the military)

Sailed her back to home, Turkey, a passage of ten days. Not easy as it was a learning curve for both the boat and myself. Got hit by the 'Bora' in the Adriatic with the winds maxing at 54 knots. Learned how to re-sew a partiallly shredded genoa and then became becalmed in the Cyclades.

How impressed I am with her. She can certainly take more that I can!

Now she's home and it's time to sort out all the little wrinkles that the trip has shown up.

Oh nearly forgot. Also managed to cross one more of the sailors 'bucket list'. Came through the Corinth Canal; amazing!

Hey there we also bought in Croatia however stayed the season opting to head for Turkey early next year, Bora is a shocker however his brother Hugo aint much better we had 70knots last night sitting safely in our Marina with enough decklines for Croatias entire seagull population to roost upon....

Did you stop in Montenegro or just keep going?

S&s 39 = great boat, take care Frank

Hi Frank.

Great. There's no better way of learning than casting off.
