Greetings everyone,
I live in Canton, NY and own a 1978 Aquarius 21. I have about 6 years sailing experience with 3 of those years sailing my Aquarius. However, since moving to the state of
New York about 5 years ago I have not been sailing and my
boat has sat (mostly neglected) on its
trailer.
I'm finally getting to the point of
cleaning up and repairing my sailboat so that I can start sailing again. I joined here in the hope of getting help with understanding what has to be replaced and what is still good enough until I can replace or
repair. So I will be
posting in the general forum once I upload some pictures and asking for help.
My sailing experience has mostly been in the
Potomac River. Other than that river I've only sailed in a bay once or twice. I hope to sail in the
great lakes someday and also would enjoy island hopping in the
Caribbean and sailing from the US to
Europe. I do recognize that my
boat is likely not really suitable for sailing in the ocean and so likely go sailing with someone else for ocean sailing if I ever get to that point. For now I'll be satisfied getting my sailboat back on the
water in lakes and reservoirs near me.
