Norwegian Sailor

Norwegian sailor here.

I enjoy expeditions on a sailboat and blue water cruising.

Sold my norwegianbuilt 27 feet Happy. A really tough boat and we have spent many days and nights in the North Sea, summertime as wintertime.

Nothing like sailing between oilrigs in a crystalclear night and some wind in your face.

I am upgrading to a steel sailboat between 38 and 55 feet and will take her for longer expeditions and some blue water cruising in between.

What I have spent two years to work on finally pays of.

Well, that`s a few words about me.

Re: Norwegian sailor

Welcome to the Forum. I spend a fair amount of time in Stavanger and have always wanted to sail out of there. Norway must be a great place to be a sailor.

Re: Norwegian sailor

EOT, Norway is one of the most spectacular countries I have visited (twice) so far. Genuinely warm people too. The only thing I found missing were coconut trees and an affordable cost of living. Some of the nicest people too!

Fortunately, I no longer smoke. The price of a pack back in 1978 was $10! What is it now?

Welcome to the forum. My boat was built for your neck of the woods.

CWY: A twenty pack is around 15 US dollar. I do not smoke, so not to sure.

Stavanger is a great place to sail from. I actually bought my Happy in Stavanger and sailed her home from there.

Re: Norwegian Sailor

Aloha and welcome aboard!
That really is a great reason to stop smoking. I quit early enough that I never had to pay over 50 cents a pack and I paid as little as 50 cents a carton from sea stores on a Navy ship back in the old days.
kind regards,
