Newbie to sailing

Hello everyone! I’m new to water sailing">blue water sailing after a five day sail from Niue Island to Fiji. The captain was on his way to India but unfortunately he had to make Fiji for major repairs. I left the boat and headed for Sydney. My ambition is to travel up the eastern seaboard and see what happens along the way. Sailing is my passion now and I want to learn more about it and hopefully one day have my own yacht. I live on Niue Island and I look forward to going back and making the passage again as crew?

Re: Newbie to sailing

G'day Hioblue, and welcome to cf,

Ann and I visited Niue in 1990 on our way west and found it an unique place in so many ways. If you were part of the welcoming folks we met there, we still remember those days with pleasure. If we did not encounter you, well, it was still a wonderful place!

Good luck with your sailing adventures, and if you should venture down to Tasmania make yourself known to us... we owe you and your island a greeting.

Jim
