My husband and I are planning a trip to the Gulf in the spring of 2021. We have a
Sea Ray 440 Express Bridge and currently stay on it 4-5 days a week. Our plan is to upgrade to a bigger
boat and
liveaboard full-time. Our trip in 2021 will be a trial run so that we can make the trip in our familiar
boat and see how we like being full-time, as well as see what we need in our next boat. We plan to leave in February and take approximately 2 weeks to get to Mobile Bay. We will be leaving from the Knoxville TN area and taking the Tombigbee down to Mobile. We plan to take another 2 weeks to get to the Sarasota/Siesta Key area, stopping in Destin for a few days. We will probably
head back up to Tennessee in April or May. We have so many questions about the trip down, cruising the
ICW,
marinas, best places to
anchor, best places to visit, etc. I have tried searching for information in this forum, but there are so many threads and I see a lot for sailboats rather than cruisers. Which forum should I ask my questions in? And please feel free to add any
advice or info to this post as well!
