Newbie Checking in with "HI!"

Lori and I are super new to all of this. Like others we wanted to check in to say hello to all.
We just closed on our 2006 Hunter 45cc. We have no experience, so have hired an ASA Captain to live aboard our new boat and take us through ASA 101, 103 and 104. We are a bit overwhelmed at the moment but excitement overides all other emotions.
We have learned a ton looking through this forum over the past months in anticipation of the big day. It's hard to believe it's actually here! Thank you all for your dedication and support. We hope to be able to reciprocate as we gain knowledge through the years that lie ahead.
Bon Voyage...

Welcome aboard Johnand Lori - you already know it's a great site with great members full of knowledge. Congrats on your purchase - good idea hiring your 'personal sailing trainer' - take it slow and don't get overwhelmed - it's alot of boat to start out on but we're here to help and support.

Fair winds, Randy

Aloha John and Lori,
Welcome aboard!! I would have recommended you start on a 13 footer but you're on a super big boat already. You should be able to complete the ASA courses you mentioned in a month or two and be out there sailing solo soon.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Many Blessings

John and Lori,

You are going to have the time of your life learning. I just completed those certificaitons and also a 113 on a 38 ft catamaran. I loved every minute of it!!! There is nothing like learning something thats already in your blood. Well, at least thats how I feel about it!!! Keep smiling and enjoy!!!

Hugs
