New Years Resolution: Be more active on CF.

Good Morning,
I've been a long time "lurker" who's decided to become more active here. I guess I could be classified as another dreamer, who hopes to cruise full time in the future (in retirement).
I sailed a bit in High School, a 14' Hobie Cat on a lake in Connecticut. Took a long hiatus, but got back into sailing in 2005 where I picked up the cruising bug. Took my ASA 101 and did a few charters out of Kemah, but the kids were too little and there were other life priorities. Fast forward to 2015, I had a new goal. Take the family on a bareboat charter in the BVI's before we're empty nesters. Completed ASA certifications through 106, joined a sail club and sailed more frequently (mostly racing in Galveston Bay on boats 30'-46') I've done 5 offshore races and have more than 1000 miles offshore now. In the Summer of 2017 we chartered a 40' catamaran and had a great 8 days sailing around the BVI's. Next goal is to get more offshore experience, crewing deliveries. I've learned a lot from all here while lurking, thanks to all for sharing your experiences, I'm looking forward to more

It was! (Jan 6th 2018)
I was lucky and had just passed the 1/2 and took this picture of the boats behind us.
With the light winds predicted this Saturday, there could be a repeat!

I drifted into mess, luckily from far enough behind to avoid the worst of the tangle!
