New to sailing - help with my Q's?

Hi everyone.

I would like to buy a small boat, power boat with steering wheel not rear engine control. I live in the UK so have no idea how you go about things. do you need a licence? how do you go about getting your boat into a marina, can you take your boat out when you want or do you have to pay fee's for taking it onto the sea? navigation how does all that work? finally any recommendations for a boat, I dont want to spend over £5,000 also want a trailor so I dont have to keep it in a marina all the time.

Thank you

Richard - Welcome aboard. We have quite a few members from the UK and I am sure someone will be able to answer your questions about the rules.

Unfortunately I am in Singapore and not familiar.

Aloha Richard,
You are starting from scratch so my best advice is to find a Marina and start talking with folks there.
Welcome aboard!
Kind regards,
