Hi, My name is Terry, I'm in the marina business in the Lake St. Clair, Mi. area, been a power boater all my life and ready to switch to a
catamaran. I'm interested in either a
Gemini 105 M or a
PDQ because of the well sizes in the
great lakes area.
I've checked out some threads about outboards and it sounded like the
PDQ with outboards mounted further forward might be better than the 105 M, but was wondering if the sonic drive was longer than the Yamaha 9.9 drives and would solve the cavitation problem in the Gemini's or if the
diesel was mounted further forward than the
outboard models?
Also wondering how both fresh
water and our shorter waves would effect bridge
deck slapping?
I'm hopeful we have a few cats sailing Michigan. We also want to stay aboard down south for part of the
winter. Thank you.
